(Verse One) All the pieces that I have And when I put it there (Verse Two) One day I found a beam And so I opened up (Chorus) So many of the small things lost Bits and pieces of a makeshift man Keep it real and keep it clean All the purities are better saved, (Bridge) Over the edge it goes, further into… |
Title: “Over the Edge It Goes”
Album: “…And Down Goes The Sky” BPM: 85 Key Signature: B Time Signature: 4/4 Subject: Introversion / Forgetting / Letting Go Synopsis: A little black box is held in the hands of a man who sits on the edge of a cliff. The man reflects upon the notion that whatever he puts inside the box will never again be retrieved. He might put his secrets and beloved trinkets in the box to protect them from others, but in doing so, the indiscriminating box protects the articles from even their rightful owner. They are lost to all. The man proceeds to put all that he owns into the box. He stashes all of his memories, experiences, hopes, fears, and any remaining innocents. Even the beams of sunlight that fall on his face, he puts inside to be forever saved. He, then, ponders whether or not he might jump in, himself. Contributors:
